P.V.N.R Trust has been created with the sole objective of not only meeting this shortage of blood, but making it available in the remotest corners of Telangana over a period of time. This is the brain child of the PV family and is headed by them, who along with sharing their grandfather’s dream and vision, are also an excellent team of medical professionals who have decades of experience in this field.

Taking the former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Awardee,  Shri. P.V. Narasimha Rao’s vision forward, the Trust has set up a Blood Bank at Gajwel Mandal, Siddipet District of Telangana State in 2018, and has been serving the rural population around the clock and is the only Rural Blood Bank in the state with ISO certification. With a new branching launching its operations in Hyderabad in September, 2022, the Blood Bank issues free blood to Voluntary Blood Donors, Thalassemia, Sickle cells, Anaemia, Haemophilia patients and so on. 30% of the blood collected from the camps is issued free of cost to government hospitals and collects nominal testing charges from other patients as prescribed by govt of Telangana.

Achieving a healthy society requires providing better healthcare facilities not only in the towns and cities but also in the rural areas. Providing blood is the ‘lifeline’ of public health. We see lots of people dying due to life threatening injuries and diseases which can be prevented by a timely blood supply. Blood should not only be made available in time but it should be of good quality and without contamination. Unfortunately, this very ‘lifeline’ has become scarce, more so in rural areas due to sheer indifference and neglect.

 

To procure quality blood in the right quantities is just one side of the coin. To store it hygienically and, more importantly, to make it available at the right place and at the right time is a much bigger challenge. This Trust is gearing up its infrastructure and logistics to meet this very challenge. It is planning to establish more blood banks to achieve this noble cause. It follows the best practises of hygienic procurement and has employed the latest technologies for storage and logistics for effective reach.
